pi Rock and Walk

How it went down...

Unified for UNIFAT’s big event for 2009 focused on education about UNIFAT school, a white flag parade symbolizing our support for an end to the longest running civil war in Africa, and a benefit concert that was open to all to celebrate the progress UNIFAT has made.

Educational workshops took place at Moeller High School consisting of stations that showed videos of UNIFAT School and the children. Abitimo Odongkara (founder and proprietor of UNIFAT School) gave a closing speech and answered questions that those in attendance had.

All in attendance then boarded buses with Abitimo and headed to downtown Cincinnati. Everyone gathered at fountain square for a rally before marching through the streets with white peace flags, escorted by the police to Sawyer Park.

Rock and Walk for Peace culminated in a benefit concert at Sawyer Point open to the public where local bands played great music. To see some photos from the event, click the camera to the right!
